2006: Cartwright played in all 16 games as the primary kickoff return specialist and on special teams. 2003: Cartwright emerged as a solid force in the Redskins backfield, recording 107 carries for 411 yards and four touchdowns, to go along with 18 receptions for 176 yards.

2002: Cartwright had a solid rookie season after earning his spot on the roster and during the season in training camp, contributing in blocking schemes as a backup running back as well getting some touches out of the backfield. He had 11 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown with a 22-yard long and an 11.0 average yards per catch. He also played a strong role in special teams coverage and returns, finishing with three special teams tackles. He made his debut as a Redskin and as a pro against Arizona in Week 1.
